Yoshimitsu Tanto  Get Item Details Get Item Price

The Yoshimitsu Tanto has been discontinued by CAS Hanwei - We only have a few in stock and have discounted the price by 36% off retail.

Yoshimitsu, of the Edo period, was regarded as one of the three greatest swordsmiths of Japanese history, but his tantos are revered as the best. In Japanese society, gift giving was an integral part of proper etiquette and rewards for service were usually bladed weapons. For the Tokugawa family, blades by Yoshimitsu and his descendants were thought to be extremely auspicious. The Yoshimitsu Tanto is made to honor this great smith by replicating one of his surviving blades. The forged T10 high-carbon blade, with its distinctive temper line (hamon), is superb. The tsuka is ray skin (same) wrapped and the kashira and kurikata are of buffalo horn. The kozuka and the menuki are decorated in the hollyhock crest (mon) of the Tokugawa family. The deeply lacquered scabbard with a Japanese cotton sageo complete this magnificent piece.

Tactical Tanto  Get Item Details Get Item Price

The Tactical Tanto combines the best attributes of a traditional tanto with modern features that make this an eminently practical tool. The genuine rayskin grip and distal-tapered, edge-tempered blade (60HRC edge) with its distinctive temper line are strictly tanto, but everything else is pure Paul Chen. The 7" high-carbon blade is blued and under the rayskin a heavy tang provides strength and enough weight for effective use of the pommel. A spring latch provides positive retention in the powder-coated steel sheath, which is nylon-lined for quiet operation. Two positions are provided for attaching the ViseClipâ„¢ mounting, allowing ultra-secure handle-up or handle-down carry.

Cold Steel Warrior O Tanto  Get Item Details Get Item Price

The Warrior Series from Cold Steel are strong, good looking, and reasonably priced.  The Tsuba (guard), Fuchi (collar), and Kashira (pommel), are expertly made and finely crafted in blackened brass. The Habaki (blade collar) is hand made out of brass and each hilt is covered in Same' (ray skin) and tightly wrapped in the traditional style with black cord. A beautiful Menuki (a small ornamental sculpture inserted between the ray skin and the cord wrappings on the handle) enhances the sword's aesthetic appearance and makes for a sword that is as traditional looking as we can possibly make it. All feature fully sharpened 1055 carbon steel blades, each heat treated to a spring temper.    The O Tanto has a 13 1/4" blade and 6" handle.
